FAQ ABOUT ALD RELEASE

What is used car leasing?
Used car leasing is the leasing of a used car, in our case our product ALD Release which is available for both companies and individuals and in two different leasing formats; ALD Release Basic and ALD Release Plus.

What is a used car?
With ALD Release you are leasing a car that is not brand new, which means that the car may have some wear and tear and performance may have been affected. However, what all ALD Release cars have in common is that they are carefully selected from returned lease cars, in good condition with a full service history.

What is the difference between ALD Release Basic and ALD Release Plus?
ALD Release Basic contains only the car and the contracted kilometers per year.

ALD Release Plus includes not only the car, which you can drive contracted kilometers per year, but also insurance, new tires in case of normal wear and tear, tire change, inspection, service and repairs (in case of normal wear and tear). All car-related costs are collected on one monthly invoice, including the administration of other car-related costs such as congestion taxes.

Whether you choose ALD Release Basic or ALD Release Plus, you only need to return the car at the end of the contract. You don’t have to think about the resale value of the car, but can instead choose your next Release car. As a customer, you do not have to worry about the development of the second-hand market during the contract period. A fixed interest rate means you don’t have to worry about unforeseen increases.

Who can drive the car?
It is up to you as the lessee to decide who can drive the car you are leasing, although there is an additional excess for people under 24 years of age. You are free to lend the car to friends and family, but you as the lessee are always responsible for the car.

What is the shortest time to sign a contract?
The leasing contract is signed for 24 months or longer, with free termination after 12 months.

What happens if I want to terminate the contract before 12 months?
You have a 30-day notice period and 30% of the remaining lease rent (until month 12) will be charged as a termination fee.

To terminate the contract, please send a written notice to customercare.se@aldautomotive.com containing information on the registration number, your name and the date from which you are terminating the contract. You will then receive a link to a return form which you should also complete and submit.

What is included in the fixed monthly cost?
The ALD Release Basic includes:

  • Car
  • 10 00 kilometers per year (extendable to 20 000 and 30 000 kilometers per year)
  • Free termination after 12 months

ALD Release Plus includes:

  • Lease rental incl. operating agreement, insurance, inspection, service and repairs for normal wear and tear and wear parts
  • Summer and winter tires incl. seasonal changes
  • 10 000 kilometers per year (extendable to 20 000 and 30 000 kilometers per year).
  • Free termination after 12 months
  • All car-related costs on one monthly invoice, including the administration of other car-related costs such as congestion charges.

Whether you choose ALD Release Basic or ALD Release Plus, you only need to return the car at the end of the contract. You don’t have to think about the car’s resale value or worry about developments in the second-hand market during the contract period.

How many kilometers can I drive per year?
This is agreed at the start of the contract. It includes 10 000 kilometers per year, but you can also sign a contract for 20 000 or 30 000 kilometers per year. Any excess kilometers will be charged at the time of return at 10 SEK including VAT.

Can I buy extra kilometers during my contract?
You cannot buy extra kilometers during a contract. It is most advantageous to buy extra kilometers at the start of a contract and the cost is spread over your monthly invoice. Ask your salesperson for a quote for the distance you expect to drive per year. Any extra kilometers when returning the vehicle will cost 10 SEK/km including VAT.

Do I dare sign a leasing contract now given all the talk of interest rate increases?
ALD Release is based on a fixed interest rate, which means that the monthly price you sign a contract for is the monthly price that will apply for the entire duration of the contract, regardless of how much interest rates may increase in the meantime.

What happens if I want to terminate the contract after 12 months?
You have 30 days’ notice, no termination fee is charged.

In what condition should the car be returned?
The car must be returned in a condition that can be expected from a car that has been carefully maintained and cared for throughout the contract period. This means, for example, that it should have been serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s service intervals, have all equipment intact and be free of damage. If the car has suffered abnormal wear and tear, you may have to pay compensation for this when the car is returned.

Your first invoice
Your first invoice will cover the period from the day the car is delivered up to and including the full month following the month of invoicing as leasing is invoiced in advance. This means that the first invoice always covers at least two months.

Can I change my car during the contract period?
No, not before 12 months (without a termination fee). After 12 months, you have free notice and can effectively cancel and sign a new contract.

Which cars can I lease?
All those that are published on aldbil.se and have a green price tag with a published monthly price.

Can I buy my ALD Release car?
Yes, the purchase price is set at the market price that ALD Automotive assesses upon request.

What do I do when it is time for an inspection?
ALD Release Basic: the registration certificate shows the current inspection period of the car. You are responsible for booking and paying for the inspection and following up on any measures to ensure that the car is always legal to drive.

ALD Release Plus: in good time before it is time to inspect your car, you will receive information that it is time to inspect your car. You choose a station and time that suits you. We as the lessor are responsible for the cost of the inspection.

What do I do when it is time for service?
For ALD Release Basic: When the car indicates service, you need to make an appointment with a workshop in our service network that performs service on the car. You pay for the service yourself. NOTE! It is important that the service is performed on time according to the car’s service plan in order for the car’s warranty to be valid. Missed service or late service will result in unnecessary costs upon return.

For ALD Release Plus: When the vehicle indicates service, you need to make an appointment with a workshop in our service network that performs service on the vehicle. You pay nothing for this, it is included in your car rental. NOTE! It is important that the service is carried out at the right time according to the car’s service plan to avoid faults occurring and that non-service or late service leads to unnecessary costs on return.

Seasonal change and tire wear
For ALD Release Basic: You arrange and pay for the purchase and seasonal change of your tires, and are responsible for ensuring that the tires meet the applicable requirements for condition and tread depth.

For ALD Release Plus: Your leasing contract includes seasonal change of your tires and also new tires after normal wear and tear. Contact one of our partners (see below) when it is time to change to winter/summer tires or when the tires are worn out.

What should I do in the unlikely event that my car is damaged?
ALD Release Basic:
If this happens, contact the insurance company the car is insured with, they can refer you to a workshop to fix the damage as soon as possible. You should book an appointment for any repairs yourself as soon as you have received an approval or claim number from the insurance company.

If the car has a valid vehicle damage warranty, any repairs must be carried out at a workshop from our service network. A vehicle damage warranty is the new car warranty for passenger cars given by the brand’s Swedish general agent and is usually valid for 36 months from when the car was first purchased new. In these cases, you may receive a claim letter from both your chosen insurance company and the car brand’s insurance company. In all claims, the insurance company will inform you of the appropriate workshop. Remember to report your claim within 30 days from the date of the accident, as insurance companies may deny compensation if the claim is submitted too late.

Unrepaired damage can lead to unnecessary costs in the long run – you should avoid this.

ALD Release Plus:
If this happens, report the claim to Moderna Försäkringar (part of Trygg-Hansa, insurer is Trygg-Hansa Försäkring filial, branch of Tryg Forsikring A/S) on their website, they will then get back to you with a claim letter containing the claim number. As a business customer, you can also make a claim in My ALD under the menu Car – Insurance.

In the event of a claim relating to the car’s vehicle damage guarantee, Moderna Försäkringar will send your claim to the insurance company that handles the vehicle damage guarantee for your make of car. Collision damage warranty is the new car warranty for passenger cars given by the car brand’s Swedish general agent and is usually valid for 36 months from when the car was first purchased new. In these cases, you may receive a claim letter from both Moderna Försäkringar and the car brand’s insurance company.

After approval and receiving a case number, you book an appointment for a damage inspection and repair at the workshop referred by the insurance company. Information about the workshop can be found on the claim form.

Remember to report your claim without delay as the insurance company may reject a claim if the claim is received later than 30 days from the date of the accident.

Unrepaired damage can lead to unnecessary costs in the long run – you should avoid this.

If the damage is linked to an insurance case, what do I do?
ALD Release Basic: contact the insurance company with which the car is insured. ALD Release Basic does not include insurance, but you as a customer choose which company you want to take out insurance with.

ALD Release Plus includes insurance from Moderna Försäkringar, which you should contact in these cases. You can reach Moderna Försäkringar on 077-570 10 10.

Roadside assistance
If the car is not in driveable condition, contact ALD Roadside Assistance on 08-501 123 30 (abroad +46 8 501 123 30). This is available around the clock, every day of the year. The service is linked to SOS, which in some cases can charge an administrative cost depending on the nature of the case, this cost is always passed on to you as a customer.

What do I do if I get a stone chip?
If you go to a workshop before the damage is too severe, it is often possible to repair the stone chip without replacing the entire window. To repair a stone chip or replace a windshield, we recommend that you contact Ryds Glas on 0771-116 100 or www.rydsbilglas.se.

Is it possible to transfer the contract to someone else during the contract period?
No, ALD does not allow the transfer of the Release to another party during the contract period.

Which terms and conditions apply?
You can find all terms and conditions here.
